Research-based Classes Incorporating

Yoga Science and Philosophy:

Yoga interventions, both short and long-term, of various styles have been shown to have a large impact on reducing pain resulting from many conditions such as migraines, back pain, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Neuroscience:

A multimodal program of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral techniques, and functional movement fosters the development of new synaptic connections, which reduces chronic pain more effectively than pharmaceuticals.

Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI):

Yoga, meditation, and cognitive behavioral therapy have been associated with reduced inflammatory processes and levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in cancer, HIV, depression, anxiety, wound healing, sleep disorder, cardiovascular diseases, and fibromyalgia.

Lifestyle medicine:

Lifestyle factors are associated with chronic pain severity and persistence. Modifying these behaviors and introducing management techniques improves outcomes.

Epigenetics:

Chronic pain changes not only our brain but also impacts our genetic expression. Yoga and meditation have been shown to influence these expressions.
